Evan Violets is a writer and editor from Singapore. A self-taught creative, Evan has put out several standout poems including “our pretend implodes” which earned him a nomination for the Pushcart Prize in 2022, making him the youngest Singaporean nominee at 16 years of age. He has also clinched several local honours, including 3rd overall and 2nd overall placing in the Unity Writers Festival (UWF) in 2020 and 2021 respectively. In 2024, Evan founded Fresh Universe Magazine, an international digital art and literary magazine committed to being a home for art about the universe and everything within it. In 2025, Evan took over as one of the 2 Editor-in-Chiefs of The Hiraeth Review, forming a leadership duo to guide the magazine on its mission to strengthening the voices of the youth through pen and paper, Evan also co-founded Meow Meow Zine, a cat-themed zine, with graphic designer Aiji, where he is an Editor-in-Chief.
